2. What data we process

• Identification and contact data: first and last name, email, phone and home address/city.
• Professional profile data: current role, description and responsibilities, category, level, education, languages, company and swap preferences (desired destination, dates, work mode, etc.).
• Account data: password (always stored encrypted) and basic technical usage logs.

3. Purpose

• Create and manage your account and swap profile.
• Run the matching engine to find you compatible job swaps (direct or chained).
• Notify you about your swaps (proposals, acceptances, status) and answer your contact requests.
• Send you, if you consent, informational communications such as the newsletter.

4. Legal basis

• Your consent, given when you sign up and accept this policy, which you may withdraw at any time.
• Performance of the service you request (the relationship you accept when registering and using the platform).
• Our legitimate interest in keeping the platform secure and improving the service.

5. Who can see your data

Your profile is shown to other users for matching purposes anonymously (without your name or your company's) until both parties accept a swap; only then is the information needed to carry out the swap revealed, respecting the anonymity options you chose.

We use providers that process data on our behalf (processors), such as platform hosting and email delivery. They only access what is strictly necessary and under a contract compliant with Art. 28 GDPR.

6. International transfers

Caribou is a global platform: when searching for swaps in other cities and countries, your profile data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. In those cases we apply appropriate safeguards (e.g. the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your data while your account is active and, afterwards, for the applicable legal periods. If you delete your account or withdraw consent, we erase or anonymize it unless a legal obligation requires retention.

8. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability, and withdraw your consent, by writing to info@caribounow.ai. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or service changes. We will always publish the current version on this page with its update date.
